I called my vet to ask her a simple question. What food does she suggest I feed my dogs, since I now feed Great Life and want to know if she agrees with the choice or would recommend a better dog food? My vet left me a voicemail that she had some reservations about Great Life food.
She wondered aloud if Great Life had done any large-scale published nutritional studies like Purina, Eukanuba, Science Diet, Iams and (another brand name I cannot recall) have completed. When I listened to her voicemail, I was pretty shocked at her dog food suggestions. Her statement about the studies made me recall the tobacco companies' published health studies which concluded smoking wasn't dangerous. Considering both my dogs got hot spots when I fed them Eukanuba and Iams, I went to talk to my vet in person.
I confronted my vet with a list of ingredients from the 5 different "big name" brands she mentioned. She was floored to see the amount of crap in the dog foods she suggested. As you may know, ingredients are listed in order of highest percentage ingredient by weight. When I showed her the "premium" ingredients from the brands she suggested versus the ingredients contained in Great Life, she was speechless. I told her that as a trained chemist I'd rather feed my dogs a dog food that contained cranberries and blueberries instead of Purina's "added color (Red 40, Yellow 5, Blue 2)" Half-Jokingly, I told her that my wife and I were thinking of eating Great Life given the quality of ingredients. As any medical professional, she didn't want to admit that there might be something to better nutrition, but I definitely made her rethink her responses to me and she backpedaled on her earlier position and suggested that if Great Life isn't causing problems then I may want to continue to feed it to them. The more entertaining part was that once she was out of
earshot one of her vet techs who overheard us asked me for the brand name and store where I got the food, so he could give it to his dogs.
My dogs love your food, at 5+ years old they exude energy, their coats are wonderful, and I feel good that the ingredients are so healthful.

Just the facts! I looked a long time for a dog food that I felt I could trust for quality and correct nutrition. Great Life Dog Food is the answer. I just wish there was a distribution center nearer to me (Dallas or Fort Worth). My UPS driver and I had a long conversation about your food after she noticed that she had delivered 120 pounds of it to me. She is also interested in feeding her dogs a healthy diet.
I feed healthy food because I would rather invest my money in my dog than in my veterinarian! My OES is never sick and has no health issues. The OES is notorious for sensitive stomachs and digestive problems. Guess they like to eat well!
Winston is our No 5 OES and No 6, Dudley, is coming soon, born 16 March.
My daughter, who lives in Stamford, CT, turned me on to your GLDF which she feeds to her two dogs. She transitioned them from Bravo BARF.
FYI- I have transitioned my 2 year old, Old English Sheepdog from a completely raw food to your food. He is eating 1-1/2 cups at each feeding, twice a day and is maintaining his weight and energy well. Before he was eating 250 grams each meal (500 gms a day) consisting of 33% raw beef - 25-30 % fat, 33 % ground beef bone and 33% raw vegetables which were put through a food processor to pulverize for digestion. He received 4-6 raw chicken necks a week. He also received 2-3 pounds of cooked beef liver (ground) every other week.
I am pleased that your food is being utilized so well. The buffalo dog food arrived today, I now have lamb, beef and buffalo and a little chicken left. As I get closer to the arrival day of my puppy I will order some chicken.

As promised I would like to forward my testimony about my 9 cats in regards to positive improvement upon being fed the Great Life kibbles and Positive Health for approx. 3 weeks. All my cats are strictly indoor. They have lots of toys, 3 climbing trees from floor to sealing, 2 large windows to lay by and 1 large garden window with 2 levels to lounge in and get sun.
1) Maxi age 14, recovered from living mostly in the streets, being very fearful towards strangers, not very sociable except with
me, mostly sleeping behind the couch, besides some scars mostly healthy, tendency to be constipated, lost some small teeth
in the front lower jar, didn't mingle with the others, older gentleman.
Now: Slimmer appearance, regular stool, shiny eyes, softer coat, more sociable with others.
2) Moritz AKA Momo age 8, recovered from a hit and run accident with a speeding car when he was just about 1 year old,
developed an eating disorder since then, recovered diabetic, overweight, dandruff on back, slow moving, little dull minded,
halfblind on one eye, didn't jump high, didn't play much, very sweet and affectionate, all the younger cat's daddy.
Now: No dandruff, shiny coat, chases up and down these climbing trees, jumps up onto the kitchen counter ( mixed blessing )
less fatty but still overweight, normal stool, still loves to eat frequently.
3) Michi age 6, recovered from struvite crystals and catheter insertion twice last spring, had to have a rotten tooth extracted in April, regularly used to throw up food, nervously sitting by the window engaging in the howabouts of neighborly cats, very needy for affection from me, didn't interact much with anybody else, used to be a dominant male, territorial needing his space, since the illness this year he lost a lot of physical power and became more timid.
Now: He gained some muscletone, added a little weight, hasn't thrown up food since 2 weeks, seems overall more friendly and
balanced, doesn't growl at the younger cats.
These 3 cats used to be indoor / outdoor and have had more challenges, specially since they were converted into indoor cats in
spring 2000 due to increasing traffic and Michi killing and bringing into the building too many birds (dead or alive).
They suffered a great deal for a long time and developed all kind of problems in the following years. However with the help of great food, added supplements, they are now much more balanced and as happy as they can be given the circumstances.
There are 6 other younger cats with visible benefits resulting from eating the Great Life kibbles and using Positive Health.
I can say that all of their physical appearance has improved, a better digestion and markedly greater energy is also evident.

The breeder of my Ridgeback puppy recommended Great Life and eNZYmes Pro and so he has been on it since I brought him home. Six months ago I decided to try a different brand from a home delivery service. Within 2 weeks, his coat started to dull. I immediately put him back on Great Life and he now has his shiny mahogany coat again and his teeth are milk white and healthy. My older Ridgeback had been on another "natural" anti-allergy dog food but still had problems with his ears and coat. I put him on Great Life about 3 months ago and his skin and coat have greatly improved.

I am a customer of yours and I ordered some of your eNZYmes Pro+ for my dogs and cats. I have a crow that I have had since he was a baby. He was injured and can never be set free. He had been looking awful lately. He had picked all of his feathers on his head off. He didn't have any feathers left on his neck and he was picking at his wings too. He looked awful. I started him on your eNZYymes Pro+ about a month and a half ago. He looks beautiful now. His feathers have all grown back and he has a beautiful sheen to him. I can't say enough about your product. I have an 11 month wolf dog. when i got him from a family member (who owned the mother) at 3 months i could not get him to keep any kibble down so i decided to do some "research" on the internet. What i found really worried me. All dogs, and especially wolf/wolfdogs for that matter, are NOT supposed to have corn, wheat & soy! Wolf/wolf dogs can not digest such things. I searched for about a week trying to find something that would work for him (while using a rather expensive diet of raw meat and vegetables that we had to use to get him healthy again). I found your food and decided to give it a shot. IT IS THE ONLY DOG FOOD HE COULD KEEP DOWN! He is now big and healthy with no problems and an amazingly gorgeous coat! My 8 year old Canaan with bad arthritis even started getting more active and a better coat. I can't believe i ever fed my dogs "normal" dog food! My dogs thank you!
